About Rules Made Easy
Rules Made Easy publishes plain-language guides for parents. It exists because most hobby advice online is written for collectors and enthusiasts, not for the adult who has to set a budget, find somewhere to put it all, and keep it from taking over the house.
Why this site exists
Pokémon cards are a good example of a hobby that is easy to overcomplicate. A parent looking for a simple starting point runs into pricing charts, grading debates, and investment talk within about thirty seconds. Rules Made Easy starts from a different question: what does a family actually need in order to enjoy this without overspending or creating clutter?
Rather than covering many topics thinly, the site currently covers one topic properly. Other topics may follow once this one is genuinely useful.
The Calm Collecting Club approach
Calm Collecting Club is the name for how this site approaches the hobby. Three ideas run through everything published here:
- Small and finished beats big and endless. A collection with a boundary is easier to enjoy than one that keeps growing.
- Organising costs less than replacing. Most of the frustration parents describe comes from damage and mess, not from missing cards.
- The child's enjoyment is the point. Resale value, grading, and completion are adult concerns that can quietly take the fun out of it.
Editorial standards
How recommendations are selected
Products are included because they fit a specific job described in the guide — storing, protecting, sorting, or carrying cards. Selection is based on published product information and on what the job actually requires. Rules Made Easy does not operate a testing lab, and nothing here should be read as a lab-tested result.
How affiliate relationships are disclosed

How outdated information is corrected
Products get discontinued, packaging changes, and links break. When that is noticed, or when a reader reports it, the page is corrected. There is no fixed review schedule and this site does not claim one. If something here is out of date, the Contact page is the fastest way to say so.

No brand pays for placement here, and no company has been given approval over what is published. Affiliate income does not decide whether a product is included or how it is described. If that ever changes, it will be stated plainly on the page it affects.
